World Expo

As the summer vacation approaches, the number of children visiting the World Expo will increase significantly. On June 10, the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau again issued health tips for visiting the World Expo. Children should pay attention to safety protection to avoid accidental injury and illness.

It is reported that due to the large Expo site, young children, active personalities, and some parents' neglect of safety protection, some children were accidentally injured and ill when visiting the Expo. The Shanghai Children's Medical Center, as the designated hospital for the World Expo, has received more than 100 children patients referred by the World Expo Park in the past month. Among them, medical patients account for about 50%, most of whom are fever and digestive tract symptoms; The rest of the children suffered from accidental sprains, contusions and fractures of their feet. The health department suggested that children should have a full rest the day before their garden trip to ensure good health; Children should wear comfortable and breathable clothes when visiting the park, and should increase or decrease clothes in time according to the weather change. The temperature difference between inside and outside the venue is large, so pay attention to adding clothes when visiting the venue. Due to the hot weather, attention should be paid to food hygiene to prevent children from eating spoiled food or overeating cold drinks.

In the garden, parents should take good care of their children, do not run in crowded places, and avoid bruises, wrestling, crushing and other injuries. At the same time, parents should pay attention to replenishing water for their children regularly. If possible, they can take salt sodas to replenish salt. At the same time, they can carry some sunstroke prevention products such as essential balm to avoid heatstroke.

If the child has a chronic disease, he or she should take the regular maintenance medicine with him or her when his or her health permits after the disease is controlled. If the child has an acute illness such as fever or diarrhea, it is recommended to go to the hospital first or rest at home, and postpone the garden tour to avoid aggravating the illness. In case of any discomfort in the park, please go to the park medical service point for help in time. In case of emergency, please dial 120 emergency telephone or the park staff or volunteers call emergency vehicles to transfer to the park medical service point or the Expo designated hospital for treatment.
