The innovation base (hereinafter referred to as "export innovation base") was unveiled, and the base was supported by the Ministry of Commerce.

Shanghai Silk Group Co, Orient International Group Shanghai Li Tai Import and Export Co., Ltd., Shanghai new textile import and Export Co., Ltd., Shanghai leading group (Group) Limited by Share Ltd and other 15 enterprises have become the first batch of members to join the base.


Textile and clothing are Shanghai's traditional export commodities, ranking second, second only to IT products.

Last year, exports of these commodities amounted to US $15 billion 266 million, accounting for 10.76% of Shanghai's total exports.

Sha Hailin, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, said that Shanghai's business costs are increasing and its production cost advantages are weakening.

It is reported that the export innovation base will lead the establishment of a public service platform, such as fabric library, excipient library, information center, etc., to provide enterprises with the latest public service at home and abroad, such as surface and accessories information, online network information inquiry, fashion dress information dissemination and Library Information Resources.

In addition, the base will also promote the design center, R & D center, proofing center, exhibition center and so on.

"The base will give full play to the advantages of resource gathering, further improve the level of enterprise design, proofing, display and testing, further enhance the international competitiveness and innovation ability of Shanghai's clothing and apparel exports, accelerate the cultivation of a number of export brand products, and make greater contributions to accelerate the construction of Shanghai's international trade center."

Shanghai has laid a good foundation.

The top fourteen enterprises in Shanghai's textile and garment export have cultivated 18 independent brands, with 200 patents and inventions authorized.


The first batch of textile and garment enterprises that joined the base expressed the hope that the government should strengthen guidance and establish a service function based on leading enterprises in the industry to expand Shanghai's textile and garment design, proofing, brand and other services, and carry out the development of "Baotuan style" so as to enhance the overall strength of Shanghai's textile and garment foreign trade.


Shanghai New Union textile import and Export Co., Ltd. is also a member of the "export innovation base". It is the first Shanghai import and export enterprise that combines industry and trade.

"In 2009, under the dual pressure of the financial crisis and the rising price of raw materials such as cotton, the import and export volume of the new spinning and weaving industry still completed an upward trend of US $389 million, an increase of 10% over the same period last year.

In the first half of this year, the company's performance also maintained a two digit growth.

According to the introduction of new textile, in the proportion of the existing industrial layout, agent export accounts for more than 50% of the company's current performance, and self owned brand accounts for 40%.

"In the future, the company is expected to rely on export innovation base to get some market that it can not solve itself and go out to the overseas market with its base platform."
