What kind of sculpture do you think should be like? Look at these humorous and hippy works, and maybe you'll find that life doesn't have to be so serious.

Born in 1954, the famous "absurd" artist in Austria likes to reconstruct and define the world in front of us through artistic media such as architecture, sculpture, installation and performance.

I think people can see things differently.

As a supporter of the Fluxus school, I have been thinking and trying to make the definition of sculpture more extensive in the past 15 years.

What sculpture is it? What scene and atmosphere should sculpture appear? So I let the model pose a minute's gesture in unexpected scenes or everyday objects, and arouse the audience's doubts about the definition of sculpture, and the "short-lived sculpture" was born.

I hope this "short-lived sculpture" can be produced in the shortest way, but can be expressed in a direct, quick, and sometimes humorous way.

It's like these sculptures are natural and temporary, and their images can only be captured by photography or video.

There are many things to think about, such as the relationship between body weight and weight, and time.

Because works of art should have a beginning, but there can be no ending. The ending point may be far away, and never reach.

Like Michelangelo's words, "roll down the mountain like a ball and roll to a very far distance."

These are the embryonic forms of "one minute sculpture".

They are open and discussed. These interesting works enable the audience to enter in a relaxed way, without serious consideration and without serious consideration, even if they are material, spiritual, psychological and political.

Fashion has become a big part of my life. There are many Icon in the fashion industry. Those iconic concepts are very popular with me.

My initial confrontation with fashion was cooperating with a lingerie brand in Austria. In 70s, the brand invited many world-class photographers to shoot advertisements for supermodels, but that cooperation was a complete failure.

The problem at that time was that the models needed to do some weird movements, such as putting their heads in the crotch of male models, and they didn't want to, so they had to look for pornographic models.

Pornography is based entirely on the male's subjective point of view.

It used to be a very cynical perspective, but it was ironic.

So not only did the filmmakers hate me, but even the models hated me because they left behind their bodies and did not leave their faces.

Works with the famous model Claudia Schiffer

After that, I had different kinds of cooperation with many fashion brands.

There was a collaboration with Hermes. Because Hermes is a high-end brand, I basically interpreted the meaning of Hermes from the perspective of customers.

It was also interesting to cooperate with Claudia Schiffer in 2008. It was published in the French and German versions of VOGUE magazine.

I have a great interest in fashion because I feel that my work is part of contemporary fashion.

Work with Hermes The Poloplayer

I have a concept called cynical criticism, so my work has something like this, which may contain a bit of danger, for example, "someone is putting a knife in your back".

In fact, this danger is part of the appreciation. In fact, there is no danger, so these works have opened a door for us to open our minds.

It is a pity that no such works can be exhibited in the exhibition at the Art Center in Beijing, because from the curator's point of view, he hopes to better adapt to the tolerance of Chinese audiences, so he can't do that in other countries.

The narrow house, which is exhibited in Beijing, I think is also very consistent with the city of Beijing.

Narrow enough to let you wear your pants carefully to get through the middle, if you can't be too fat, otherwise choose bypass.

In a time when everyone wants to live in a fat house, such a narrow house is a satire.

Narrow house

Obesity is a very big problem in the United States, because in the United States, a lot of meat is eaten, and many animals in the United States make hormones. Then people eat these animals and finally become a vicious circle.

Another problem is that most of the obese people in the United States are poor because they can only eat cheap things, and the rich will join the fitness club and buy something better.

But I want to emphasize that Fat (obesity) and Narrow (narrow) is not an antonym. Narrow here refers to being squeezed, you can understand at will.

Where did my inspiration come from? I read philosophical works.

Descartes once said, "although you can see me, I can see you, but you can not believe that we can exist with each other because they can see each other."

Spinoza, a philosopher of the Spanish Renaissance, once said, "I do not believe in free will, because free will does not exist. Free will is the most important cornerstone of our contemporary society.

Scientists have shown that perhaps human beings do not have free will. Maybe our actions are not controlled by free will, but are controlled by genes.

Of course, I also read history books because I can learn a lot in history.

Why was it crazy in twentieth Century? Because there were many wars in twentieth Century, and many people died.

The life of these characters such as Hitler and Stalin is something we need to understand.

The artist who swallows the world.

I used to have a work called "the artist who swallowed the world". This is also a way of looking at the world. For example, in China, you can look at the dress here, experience the food here, and go to Japan. It's another way to see it, so I hope you can absorb different cultures in different ways.

In addition, of course, all kinds of beautiful things will attract me, including the beauty of philosophy, the beauty of women, and the beauty of scenery.

Traveling is also very important. For example, when I come to China and go back to Austria, my vision will become very open, and I will deliberately maintain this open vision.
