There is a new attraction in the creative park called the south of the Five Ridges Fashion Museum.

There are many boutique products in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, including the world's first beeswax coating raincoat and south of the Five Ridges women's wedding gowns in the early Republic of China. The value ranges from about 500000 yuan to more than one million yuan. It shows the fashion trend of Guangdong people who dare to be the first, innovate, make foreign use and open the package.

People visiting the new axis of Guangzhou can see another scenic spot. The south of the Five Ridges dress Museum opened before the Asian Games, and the more than 50 boutiques at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic were all too much to see.

Early fashion: the world's first raincoat

In the exhibition hall, the design of a large circular circular guard against the rain in the early Republic of China is very unique.

Qu Tingnan, curator of the south of the Five Ridges dress Museum, said: "this dress is made of wax on the base of Ramie for rain prevention. This craft was created by south of the Five Ridges people. It appeared in Nanyue country early in Qin Dynasty, which is equivalent to the windbreaker and raincoat coating fabric, and has obvious regional characteristics.

Many fashion people mistakenly believe that the world's first raincoat comes from the great brand Burberry of the United Kingdom. In fact, the first raincoat came from China, at least earlier than the British raincoat for hundreds of years.

Status quo:

Chinese tunic suit

Far-reaching impact

"At present, some people in the clothing industry are arguing about the birthplace of the Chinese tunic suit. I think the biggest possibility is in Guangdong, because Mr. Sun Zhongshan is Cantonese, who designs the Chinese tunic suit with the memory of his youth."

Qu Ting Nan said that his collection of polyester and white cotton uniforms in the early days of the Republic of China was the predecessor of the Zhongshan suit, which was worn by male students in the Academy. The upper part of the suit was made of bag shaped clothes. The design adopted many Western elements. The sleeves were modeled on Western shirts. However, the shape of the tailoring and sleeves still retained deep national characteristics. Sun Zhongshan's first Chinese tunic suit was improved by reference to the four bags of the collar.

Combination of Chinese and Western:

Lace

Wedding gowns are fashionable.

Qu Ting Nan introduced the marriage custom of South of the Five Ridges people at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, saying: "at that time people were married. The prettiest people were not the bride, but the bride's mother and mother-in-law."

In the exhibition hall, there is a black red wedding gown with pink lace, which is worn by a mother-in-law who marries a new daughter-in-law.

This dress is very interesting. It turned out to be a traditional Cantonese style wedding gown. But when ordering the clothes, the owner of the dress must add the French lace to the traditional style of the hem and cuffs to satisfy his pursuit of the "fashionable" mentality.

Open city: dye from Aegean Sea

In the exhibition hall, a bone snail is stained with tomato, purple, and colorful flowers.

The so-called "bone spire dye" is a valuable dye extracted from the seafood of shellfish. This dye has never faded. It has appeared since the Tang Dynasty. It was introduced from Aegean Sea to China through the Silk Road, only royal royalty enjoyed it.

Later, it may have been lost, Yuan Ming has no longer appeared.

According to the briefing, the short jacket's fabric was obtained from overseas and operated in the thirteen line of the Guangzhou family of Qu family. It was found in the remains of the "Yu de Tang" in the silk industry. It is also very valuable. It also witnessed the opening of Guangzhou's overseas history, highlighting the Guangzhou people's temperament of making foreign things serve China and being a pioneer.

Qu Ting Nan introduced that from the end of the Qing Dynasty, there had been many differences in the dress culture of Guangdong which once came from the Central Plains culture. Not only the style was bold and westernized, but also the waist and buttons were found. There were many foreign elements in the use of cloth.

Like lace imported from France, purple dye imported from Aegean Sea, jacquard satin made by Japan...

South of the Five Ridges people first opened their eyes to the world in China. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, Guangzhou people were very fashionable and led the fashion trend. The designs and patterns of these costumes were still attracting people's attention even now.

Wise fashion: beautiful clothes can keep health

In ancient south of the Five Ridges, many clothes were dyed with traditional Chinese medicine.

Qu Ting Nan introduced that red was dyed with saffron, yellow was stained with banyan root and blue was stained with Radix Isatidis, and the well-known gauze gauze (dark gauze) was soaked in Dioscorea juice with heat clearing and dampness removing, and dressed in such clothes was not easy to get skin disease, nor was it easy to get rheumatism.

The color and material of South of the Five Ridges costumes are quite characteristic and are very suitable for the regional climate.
