Shortly after that, H&M promised the public that a specific action plan would be announced within 8 weeks, and that the goal of zero emissions of toxic and hazardous substances would be achieved by 2020, based on the precautionary principle.

At the same time, H&M also proposed that every 6 months it would disclose all its subordinate suppliers' information on the use and discharge of toxic and harmful substances. The first data will be released by the end of 2012.
