Seminar On Textile And Clothing

Recently, the Symposium on requirements for common restricted substances in textiles and garments in Europe and America, interpretation of recent regulations and requirements for WRAP social responsibility certification sponsored by SGS, the world's leading third party inspection, verification, testing and certification agency, was successfully held at the 110th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), attracting many exhibitors and purchasers at home and abroad.

This seminar is mainly aimed at the relevant laws and regulations that are required for the export of textile and footwear products to the European and American markets, as well as the European and American buyers' audit requirements and related topics for domestic enterprises in terms of social responsibility and delivery capacity. It helps to enter into the latest technical requirements and regulations for textile and apparel products in countries such as Europe and the United States, and to ensure that the export products meet the relevant requirements of the country of destination.

The Canton Fair, held in the two quarter of spring and autumn, has undergone more than half a century of development and changes. Now it has become the most comprehensive, international trade event with the longest history, the highest level, the largest scale, the most complete commodity and the best reputation. It has set up a good platform for China's products to the world.

At the third Canton Fair, the main commodities included textiles, garments and footwear. These commodities occupy a very high proportion in China's export trade.

In recent years, with the gradual increase of requirements for quality and safety of textile and apparel products in European and American countries, the introduction of a series of laws and regulations, such as the EU REACH regulations and the consumer goods safety act, has made many enterprises more and more influenced and restricted by the "technical barriers to trade" in the process of export trade. Enterprises need to pay close attention to the latest regulatory requirements at home and abroad and adjust the production process to meet these requirements in time, which virtually increases the cost and the trade risk of enterprises in the export trade process.

At the seminar, Dr. Bao Ping, technical manager of SGS textiles inspection department, gave a brief explanation on the EU REACH regulations, the CPSIA regulations and other common restricted substances in the industry in recent years.

At the same time, on the recent exposure of the "green door" incident by Greenpeace, Dr. Bao Ping has also made special emphasis on the prohibition of chemical substances such as APEO in the REACH regulations.

In the field of textile and apparel products testing, relying on its huge service network, rich experience and professional skills, SGS has always been committed to ensuring the safety of clothing products, helping enterprises to enter the European and American markets quickly.
