For counterfeit goods, European and American countries have strictly inspected the mainland ready-made clothes imported in recent years, and private smugglers have used Hong Kong as a transit station to resell counterfeit goods to various regions for profit. The Hong Kong Customs recently intercepted a container car full of counterfeit goods at the Lok Ma Chau Pass, seized a large number of counterfeit brand-name clothing, including Armani, Boss and Dunhill suits, as well as a large number of counterfeit Nokia and Samsung mobile phones and batteries. The Customs is paying attention to the trend of Hong Kong becoming a transit station for counterfeit goods and cracking down. According to the Sing Tao Daily, the Hong Kong Customs recently intercepted a container car carrying a large number of counterfeit goods. It was reported that smugglers smuggled counterfeit goods from the mainland to Hong Kong for re export to all parts of the world. In addition to the container full of counterfeit fashion, mobile phones and accessories, ten cases of raw beef and frozen chicken were also found. After investigation, the customs believes that the price of pigs and beef in Hong Kong has soared recently. It is suspected that this batch of raw meat is intended to be bulk cargo in Hong Kong, but it is very easy to deteriorate during transportation because it is placed in a container without refrigeration equipment, and there is no health certificate, so the food safety is questionable. Cai, a 58 year old container driver, was arrested in the case and will later be charged with multiple smuggling charges. According to the news, the man surnamed Cai refused to disclose the source of a large number of counterfeit goods and raw meat after his arrest. The Customs Border and Port Investigation Team is investigating the Hong Kong consignors and mainland consignors, and also tracking whether there are buyers from Europe, the United States or Africa who order this batch of counterfeit goods and ship them to other countries through Hong Kong for profit. It is reported that the customs officers found that there was no reported lamp accessories in 615 cases of goods through open cabinet inspection. Instead, there were a large number of counterfeit clothing and mobile phones, including more than 1600 counterfeit fashion and shoes. The counterfeit brands included Armani, Dunhill, Dior, Boss, D&G and Chanel fashion, as well as LV and Gucci handbags. There are 2500 counterfeit mobile phones, including famous brands such as Nokia and Samsung, and more than 700 counterfeit batteries and chargers; In addition to the above two brands, there are also some accessories that impersonate Motorola, such as Bluetooth and hands-free earphones. In the case, the private owl takes everything from big to small. In addition to famous brand clothing and mobile phones, it also includes general electronic products such as ipod Mp4、 Memory cards, ear tubes and other small appliances are counterfeit goods, with a total of nearly 20000 pieces. In addition, there are also 300 kilograms of raw beef and frozen chicken in the cabinet, which are rarely smuggled at one time. According to preliminary calculation, this batch of counterfeit goods is worth about 2.1 million yuan. If the counterfeit goods are successfully shipped to foreign countries for sale, the profits will be very considerable. It is reported that recently, some cargo customers from Africa and the Middle East have come to the mainland to order counterfeit brand-name goods in person, whether fashion, handbags, sportswear, mobile phones and accessories, audio and video electronic products, etc., which have been ordered in large quantities, packaged in the mainland, and smuggled to Hong Kong by smugglers. The counterfeit goods arrived at the port intact, and the whole batch of goods were shipped and re exported to Africa or the Middle East for sales to make huge profits. A spokesman for the Customs said that the Customs had noticed the trend of Hong Kong being used as an entrepot for counterfeit goods, closely watched the illegal activities of smugglers smuggling counterfeit goods into the country, and stepped up interdiction and severely cracked down on counterfeit goods. The spokesman reminded drivers in Hong Kong and China not to take part in illegal smuggling activities for petty gain and try the law by example. According to the Import and Export Ordinance, anyone who smuggles goods without warehouse receipts or uses modified vessels for smuggling purposes can be fined up to 2 million yuan and jailed for seven years.
