Iran Smuggled Up To $2 Billion Per Year.

Khosro Taj, Vice Minister of industry and mining and trade department, said that about 2 billion dollars of clothing was smuggled into Iran every year, while the amount of clothing imported legally was less than US $6 million, which accounted for less than 1/333 of smuggled clothes.

It is pointed out that illegal imports of clothing in the Iran market do not meet the requirements formulated by the government.

Nor did it contribute to import duties for fiscal revenue.

Experts say only 20% of the clothing market in the country is made in China.
