Shanghai Market Supervision And Administration Bureau: 11 Batch Of Leather Garment Products Failed
From the official website of the Shanghai Quality Supervision Bureau, recently, the Shanghai municipal market supervision and Administration Bureau carried out supervision and spot checks on the quality of leather clothing products produced and sold in the city.
50 batches of products were inspected and 11 batches failed.
The supervision and spot check is based on the "Shanghai leather clothing product quality supervision and spot check technical specification", QB/T1615-2006 "leather clothing", GB20400-2006 "leather and fur harmful substances limit", GB18401-2010 "national textile product basic safety technical specification" and other national standards and related product standard requirements. The following items are tested: sewing requirements; appearance quality; leather tear strength; leather friction color fastness; free formaldehyde (leather); decomposable aromatic amine dyes (leather); formaldehyde content (Textiles); decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes (Textiles); color fastness (Textiles); pH value.
The spot checks found that 11 batches of products were unqualified, and the unqualified items involved were: Leather tearing force and leather rubbing fastness.
Free formaldehyde (leather), which can be used as a safety index, can decompose harmful aromatic amine dyes (leather); formaldehyde content (Textiles); decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes (Textiles) and other items all meet the standard requirements.
Leather tearing force is an objective reflection of the ability of leather products to resist external tear in the actual use process. It is one of the important physical and mechanical properties of leather materials. It is particularly important for leather clothing. Products with poor tear properties are prone to tear and breakage in clothing, which directly affects the service life of clothing.
Leather rubbing color fastness is the use of felt on leather surface for reciprocating friction, simulating leather products in daily use, due to friction, the surface coating damage, fall off, discoloration.
During the testing process, due to the migration of colored substances, such as coating, pigments and dyes, the possible migration of color may eventually lead to the migration of toxic and harmful substances in the dye to the human body, thereby causing harm.
