TESTEX Special Training (Beijing) Training Fair Held Successfully

In May 22nd, TESTEX group (Beijing) Textile Inspection Co., Ltd. successfully held a training and sharing meeting in Media Hotel in West Lake for third consecutive years in Hangzhou.

The conference aims to provide the latest information on certification development for OEKO-TEX certified enterprises, and to identify the direction for enterprises to enhance internal capacity building and define the future development path. At the same time, it also enhances the communication and interaction among certificated enterprises, and explores potential cooperation opportunities, so as to provide soil and environment for jointly building environmentally sustainable supply chain.

Mr. Ren Peng, manager of TESTEX Beijing's business department, mentioned in the opening speech of the conference that since its establishment 27 years ago, OEKO-TEX has not been waiting for legislation, but has taken the initiative to play an active role in the field of consumer protection.

OEKO-TEX in 2017 launched the LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX certification for detecting harmful substances in products, becoming the first ecological standard in leather industry.

In early 2019, STeP by OEKO-TEX was expanded from the original sustainable textile production certification to sustainable textiles and leather production certification. At the same time, ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX environmental protection dye chemicals certification also included leather chemicals in the certification area.

Along with these changes, OEKO-TEX also promotes slogans from the confidence change of Confidence in textile to Inspiring confidence, which marks the same as textile supply chain. For leather supply chain, from input of environment-friendly chemicals, to ensure sustainable production process, and to output of eco finished products, OEKO-TEX confidence has corresponding solutions to help enterprises control the safety and sustainability of their products.

At the meeting, TESTEX Beijing experts and invited guests made a detailed and professional introduction to the latest standards of OEKO-TEX series certification.

From the interpretation of the latest standards of STANDARD 100 certification to the advantages and disadvantages of the unanimous consistency audit, from the analysis of the development status of OEKO-TEX STeP to the application of display tools, the new assessment requirements and audit concerns of STeP audit are listed to guide enterprises how to enhance the management capability and environmental performance of chemicals.

Zhang Weimin, general manager of Dongjing international import and Export Co., Ltd., a specially invited buyer, spoke of their reasons for adhering to the path of sustainable development and the mentality of Dongjing development.

If we want to go far, we must foresee the distant situation ahead of time, and the future development must be sustainable. Then we must strengthen our goal. Even if we are going slowly now, we will have a long way to go.

It is worth mentioning that, along with the continuous development of OEKO-TEX business, the demand for STeP certification and MADE IN GREEN labels in domestic enterprises continues to grow. Therefore, this training will specially add two parallel small special training sessions, and explain and demonstrate the application of STeP online application forms and evaluation tools, as well as the application conditions and application procedures of MADE IN GREEN product labels, providing an intuitive guidance for enterprises.

The past year is also a year of rapid development of OEKO-TEX certification.

By the end of March 2019, the number of STANDARD 100 valid certificates has reached nearly 17 thousand, an increase of 12.5% over the same period, and the number of certificated enterprises covers 104 countries in the world.

China is still the largest number of licensed enterprises, accounting for more than 1/4.

Unlike STANDARD 100, the annual growth rate of STeP has reached 47.4%. The growth rate of STeP certificates has reached 47.4% over the same period. As of now, the number of enterprises that have obtained STeP certificates has reached 300, including 60 Chinese enterprises. In the past year, there have been many giant enterprises in the viscose industry, such as Tangshan Sanyou group, China silk famous enterprise, and many factories such as vu and NSW group.

At the same time, along with the continuous increase of sustainable production factories, there are more and more brands and enterprises in the global scope of sustainable supply chain and the promotion of traceability textiles. This has doubled the number of active users of MADE IN GREEN system.

In the past year, Germany's largest chain supermarket brand ALDI continued to push the supply chain enterprises to reduce the flow of harmful substances from the source. In the end, the STANDARD 100 Appendix 6 was used as the quality control standard of terminal products; and the German supermarket brand LIDL, which also demanded quality, chose different routes. In addition to promoting STeP in the internal supply chain as a sustainable production standard, LIDL also chose to display these sustainable production supply chains with MADE IN GREEN labels to enhance consumer trust.

In North America, more brands choose to trust OEKO-TEX, such as Canadian clothing brand Lululemon, American retail brand Walmart and Target.

Environmental protection and sustainable development are not just a certificate, a label, a slogan, it can not be separated from the implementation of production and a series of strict supervision. The power of the enterprise comes from the government's restrictions. It comes from the requirements of buyers, and ultimately benefits not only the enterprises themselves, but also the vast number of consumers.

Whether we can resolutely and thoroughly implement sustainable production comes from the degree of recognition and recognition of sustainability for enterprises.
