According to the Taiwan joint news network, the survey showed that the British people in the summer of 2019 estimated to buy more than 50 million new clothes, worth 2 billion 700 million pounds, but these clothes will wear only once.

According to a recent survey by Censuswide, a poll company, the British estimate that they will buy 11 million new clothes and spend more than 700 million pounds on the holiday.

Apart from holidays, special occasions are also one of the reasons for consumption. People spend an average of 79.76 pounds on new clothes for their wedding, and 10 million of them will wear only once.

Barnardo, a child Charitable Foundation commissioned by Censuswide, warns that this phenomenon will cause environmental and economic impacts. The fashion industry will not only cause unnecessary waste of resources, but also contribute to climate change.

Barnardo appeals to consumers to buy second-hand clothing. Javed Khan, Kahn, says buying second-hand clothing is more friendly to the environment and wallets.

Reported that the supply chain globalization, the popularity of cheap clothing and updated styles quickly, in disguised form to encourage consumers to continue to buy new clothing. Cheap online retail brand Missguided recently launched a criticism of a bikini with a pound.

According to the survey, 1/4 of the British people believe that it is humiliating to put on the same clothes for the wedding and other important occasions. The young people aged 16 to 24 have the idea of 37%, while those aged 55 or above are only 12%. More than half of the people believe that buying new clothes for special days or holidays can give a sense of stimulation to the plan.

After a year of investigation, the British Parliament's environmental audit committee has recently appealed to levy taxes on every piece of clothing sold to support resource recovery advocacy activities, and also calls for the prohibition of incineration of unwanted clothes. However, the government has not adopted the proposal.
