On August 5, the 17th world brand conference, sponsored by the world brand lab, was held in Beijing, where the analysis report of China's 500 most valuable brands in 2020 was released. In this annual report based on the analysis of financial data, brand strength and consumer behavior, SGCC ranked first in this year's most valuable brands with brand value of 503.687 billion yuan.

The total value of China's 500 most valuable brands in 2020 will be 24692.058 billion yuan, an increase of 2821.025 billion yuan over last year, with an increase rate of 12.90%. It is the 17th year for the world brand laboratory to compile the report on Chinese brands. In 2004, the threshold for selection was only 500 million yuan, and the average value of the top 500 brands was 4.943 billion yuan. 17 years later, in 2020, the entry threshold has been raised to 2.716 billion yuan, while the average value of the top 500 brands is as high as 49.384 billion yuan, with an increase rate of 899.07%.

Although the Xinguan epidemic did not stop the overall rising trend of China's brand value, compared with last year, the number of brands in clothing, automobile, tourism, media and other industries greatly affected by the epidemic situation decreased significantly, while the "just in demand" industries such as food and beverage, finance and machinery all increased to varying degrees. In this year's "China's 500 most valuable brands" list, a total of 27 brands from related industries, including food and beverage, light industry, building materials, media, textile and clothing, medicine, machinery, etc., were selected. Among them, 41 brands were selected in textile and clothing industry. There are 53 Chinese brands worth more than 100 billion this year, an increase of 6 over last year.
