Vietnam's textile and garment export volume reached 5.8 billion US dollars in the first two months of 2021, an increase of 4% over the same period last year, Vietnam's customs Online reported on March 3. In the same period last year, the export volume of textile and clothing was only 3.5 billion US dollars, a decrease of 9.8% over the same period last year. It can be seen that after the severe impact of the new crown epidemic in 2020, the textile and clothing industry has obviously begun to recover.

In 2021, the target of Vietnam's textile and garment industry is to reach 39 billion US dollars. Wu Dejiang believes that the goal is feasible, as Vietnam's textile and clothing industry is facing great opportunities brought about by a number of new free trade agreements. Wu Dejiang specially stressed that RCEP agreement will provide assistance for textile and garment industry and can replace European markets still affected by the epidemic. At the same time, the FTA will also help attract investment in the supply chain of raw materials.
