The Main Members Of The WTO Announced Technical Trade Measures In February 2008.

In February 2008, the main members of the WTO announced 151 technical trade measures, a decrease of 29.8% over the same period last year.

Among them, 99 technical barriers to trade (TBT), 52 animal and plant health inspection and quarantine measures (SPS) were announced.

The United States, Albania, the European Union, Brazil and Japan ranked the top 5 WTO members with the largest number of notifications, accounting for 47.7% of the total number of technical trade measures announced by WTO members in that month.


  

The main notified articles related to China's export products are summarized and summarized below. The relevant units are invited to know the relevant export enterprises and collect the Fair Trade Bureau of the enterprise response department.


  

I. The United States

3. amendments to the bill on basic commercial law for the sale of coolant and antifreeze for engine, A 3638 (An act to amend the general business law, in relation relation, act)


  

In New York, the United States requires the sale of benzentane as an bitterness for the sale of engine coolant or antifreeze containing more than 10% ethylene glycol. It should not exceed 30ppm.

The proposed date of entry into force is January 1, 2009.

Indiana forbids manufacturing, restructuring, refurbishing, selling, wholesaling or retailing, or otherwise insecure children's supplies for commercial channels.

Washington State prohibits the production, sale and distribution of children's products containing lead or two benzoate.

The proposed date of entry into force is January 1, 2009.

Washington state requires labelling of lead containing products.


  

7. product efficiency standard (Product Efficiency Standards) (G/TBT/N/USA/372)


  

The state of Connecticut has revised regulations on energy efficiency standards for consumer products, and has formulated minimum energy efficiency standards for products, including household heaters and boilers sold in the state, household swimming pool pumps, metal halide lamps, single output AC DC external power supplies, state controlled reflective incandescent lamps, bottled water dispensers, commercial food display cabinets, portable electronic thermostat, walk-in refrigerators and freezer and swimming pool heaters.


  

8. "phthalate two formate; infant and child safety HB2443" (Phthalates; Infant and Child Safety HB 2443) (G/TBT/N/USA/373)


  

The state of Hawaii prohibits the production, sale or sale of toys and child care products containing o-benzoate two formic acid, and requires manufacturers to use minimal toxic substitutes.

The state of Hawaii prohibits the production, sale or sale of toys and child care products containing certain toxic chemicals.

Tennessee is prohibited from selling or distributing in that state.
