Egypt Promulgates 5 New Textile Standards

Recently, Egypt's Ministry of industry and Trade approved 5 items.

The above 5 technical standards are formulated by the General Administration of quality standards of Egypt, mainly for the use of harmful substances in textile processes, involving imported and locally produced dyed yarns, printed and dyed cotton fabrics, garments, bedding and carpets. The standard pition period will be until December of this year.

The new standards include:

Children

Two, prohibit the use of 23 azo dyes and 9 other carcinogenic dyes.

Three, infant clothing formaldehyde content should not be higher than 20ppm;

Four, adult direct contact with skin clothing formaldehyde content is not more than 75ppm;

Five. The formaldehyde content of clothing with direct contact with skin should not exceed 300ppm.
